Microsoft had been upgrading its xCloud server blades to Xbox Series X hardware, in order to let gamers enjoy streaming with better quality and at better framerates. As confirmed in a recent statement to The Verge, Microsoft has confirmed that it has now completed that upgrade.

Players should see more and more games having better graphical fidelity and framerates, if they haven’t experienced it already. Xbox Cloud Gaming has also been introduced to four new regions very recently, and those in supported regions can get the service as a part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

Sony is seemingly playing catch-up right now, as a recent patent from the company suggests that it might be working to bring PS5 games to PS Now. Recently, The Last of Us Part 2 alongside a few others were also added to the service. As it stands right now, Microsoft certainly has an edge over Sony’s cloud offerings, and it’d certainly be interesting to see how the picture pans out in a couple of years.
